3 cups dried pinto beans
9 cups water
1/2 onion peeled and chopped
2 tsp minced garlic (we like garlic A LOT so we added a bit more:P)
2 tsp black pepper
5 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cumin (optional)
1 tsp chili powder
rinse your beans and add everything in the slow cooker. cook on high for 8 hours stirring occasionally and adding water as needed.
after 8 hours strain, mash or use a food processor and serve however you like.
