Small problem. I'm out of chicken and no way in hell am I walking to the store when it was maybe 40 outside...wasn't happening.
So then the hamster wheel starts turnning and I see the ground turkey. So Some ground turkey, garlic, an egg, corn meal and a lil bit of flour later, we have a Turkey "nugget"
You will need:
1 lb ground turkey or chicken
1/2 cup cornmeal or bread crumbs
1 egg
1 tbsp minced garlic
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup flour for coating
Mix the turkey, cornmeal, egg, salt, pepper and garlic.
Take a plate and put the flour on it and spread it out.
Take some meat mixture, about 2 tbsp maybe 3 for larger bites, and form them into round nugget type shapes.
set them on the plate with the flour and dust both sides.
in a skillet (preferably cast iron) put a couple pats of butter down and melt. Fry the "nuggets" on each side for about 5 minutes each side.
Serve with w/e sauce you want, my kids got ketchup and mustard as per requested and Hubby and I got them with a siracha ranch I make.
Now you could probably bake them and make them even healthier, but if you have kids you know the faster you get the food on the table the safer you will be! hahahaha:P
